MHIAA Gives Back to Aussies this Summer
In a recent report by the Business Roundtable for Disaster Resilience and Safer Communities, it’s estimated that the cost of natural disasters in Australia is set to increase from $18.2 billion to more than double by 2050.
Many Australians around the country have lost their livelihoods to devastating disasters. It’s said to take months, if not years, to recover and this is where MHIAA comes in to play its part.
Farmers in New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and Queensland in particular have been badly affected by prolonged dry weather conditions. Figures show that 99 percent of NSW and 57 percent of Queensland are in drought and, with a presence across regional and remote Australia, Red Cross members and volunteers have been mobilising to support communities locally.
Recognising the importance of this cause and aligning its latest promotion to the company’s 20th birthday which takes place next year in Australia, MHIAA will be running a very special summer promotion. For every registered AC unit purchase made by its customers from 01 December 2018 to 28 February 2019, MHIAA will donate $20 to Australian Red Cross Natural Disaster Relief Fund. In addition, customers who make a purchase during this time will each receive a $50 e-gift card.
Adrian Brown, National Sales and Planning Manager for MHIAA says that this cause resonates in the hearts and minds of Aussies, particularly over the festive season. “While most of us enjoy a comfortable home environment throughout the year, many Australians face the reality of natural disasters each day. With MHIAA celebrating its 20th year in the market, we really wanted to use this time to give back”.
“Australian Red Cross recently made a comment saying that the Red Cross has seen some of the worst ever disasters in Australia and the Asia Pacific in recent years,” explains Adrian.
Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief provides emergency support service teams around the country and the donations provided will assist in training and aiding its workers, teaching in disaster-prone communities, training and sending specialist aid workers to assist the local Red Cross team members, and maintaining stocks of critical disaster response equipment including water filtration, shelter, hygiene and cooking kits for use in local and international emergencies.
“While we cannot control these disasters and their onslaught, we can offer the support of MHIAA and its customers in providing much-needed funding to this very worthy organisation” Adrian concludes.
