In 1999 the company set out with a vision to transform the lives of consumers around both countries by delivering high quality, premium air conditioners for residential and commercial spaces. In a short 25 years the company has gone from strength to strength as the most independently awarded brand of air conditioners, they are the Experts in Air.

With a strong history and foundation as part of the Global Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group, and capitalising on 140 years of engineering excellence, the company was first established in Australia as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Australia (MHIAU), before expanding into Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners Australia (MHIAA) in 2009 to develop a global company with a local heart. Driven by our commitment to innovation, integrity and excellence, we have developed strong sales and after-service leadership across Australia and New Zealand, with the consumer always front of mind.

MHIAA is the most independently awarded brand of air conditioners in Australia, named as the CHOICE® Best Brand of Air Conditioners for 6 consecutive years, the winner of the Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customer Award for 5 consecutive years and the Finder Best Rated Air Conditioner Brand for 3 years in a row. We also won the 2024 ProductReview awards for both Split System and Ducted Categories. The company also won the 2023 APAC Business Headlines Company of the Year award and the 2023 Employer of Choice Award.

Looking ahead

Over the last 25 years, we have significantly grown our staff and developed new teams within our company.  Our executive team has also significantly grown and with over 50% of the executive team being female, we have continued to push the boundaries within our company and promote the staff members who have propelled our business forward.

MHIAA will be developing and promoting several community-driven initiatives that will focus on giving back to the communities that have supported them over the last 25 years.
