What Is The Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Program?

• The Victorian Energy Upgrades Program is a voluntary Victorian government initiative
• It provides rebates and discounts to Victorians who replace old heating and cooling systems with more energy-efficient systems.
• The VEU program commenced on the 31st May 2023.

How Does The Program Work?

With this new activity, you can only install a:

• Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) approved product
• A range of ducted (whole-of-home) and non-ducted (room) reverse-cycle air conditioners
• High-efficiency reverse cycle air conditioner capable of both heating and cooling.

Note: to be eligible for a discount, the accredited provider or installer may also be required to decommission your existing heating system.

How Do I Participate?*

• Step 1: Look at the available products list.
• Step 2: Choose the products you wish to install to reduce your energy costs.
• Step 3: Engage with an accredited provider.

You need to work with an accredited provider that is authorised to install VEU energy efficient products. Accredited providers are also responsible for organising a discount or rebate for any products you choose to install. They will tell you:

• What products you can use
• Who can install the products you choose

What MHIAA Products Are Eligible?

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has several products available (pending final approvals) across the following classes:

• 6(23) – Space heater and cooler – High efficiency air conditioner
• 7(18) – Space heater – Ducted air to air heat pump
• 10(18) – Space heater – Room air to heat pump
