MHIAA adds Employer of Choice to its Many Accolades in 2023
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioners Australia (MHIAA) is proud to announce that it has been recognised as an Employer of Choice [EOC] at the recent 2023 Australian Business Awards.
“We are delighted to have received our first-ever EOC Award,” says Managing Director for MHIAA, Mr. Yuji Ito. “Employees are the backbone of our organisation and we put their wellbeing first. We understand that without our employees, our success would not be possible and being recognised by the EOC is a testament to this.”
The EOC Awards recognise organisations whose recruitment, employee engagement and retention policies enable them to bring out the best in their employees and maximise the full potential of their workforce. Entrants to the EOC Awards are required to demonstrate their achievements across the key areas of Organisational Culture & Leadership; Employee Education, Training & Development; Employee Health, Safety & Satisfaction; Performance Management; Recognition & Remuneration. “The EOC sets out a rigorous criteria framework and MHIAA was able to meet each of these.”
THE AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS AWARDS
The Australian Business Awards are an integrated, hierarchical leadership program, recognising the country’s business, innovation and technology leaders. These Awards are conducted internationally as the World Business Awards.
Participating organisations benefit from the global recognition they receive through the Awards, as they offer a formidable platform for brand-building, global publicity, and exposure, as well as the ability to benchmark performance against that of other leading global entities. “MHIAA is honoured to stand alongside the companies recognised by the Australian Business Awards, renowned for their innovations, business leadership and their commitment to creating exceptional workspaces,” says Mr Ito.
THE MHIAA DIFFERENCE
MHIAA’s award-worthy company culture and working environment are characterised by several key factors, including the establishment of employment policies that facilitate a healthy work-life balance for staff. “This ranges from 35-hour work week arrangements for permanent staff to flexible hours and hybrid work options that enable our employees to dedicate time each day to the things that matter – be it time spent with loved ones, or engagement in physical activities.”
MHIAA’s employee rewards program, Perks Plus, helps staff extend their income by offering them discounts at hundreds of Australian and New Zealand retailers.
In addition, MHIAA provides employees with opportunities for personal development and career growth through training, team-building projects and development programs. These include a Study Assistance Program that caters for tuition fees and study leave, tours of the factory in Thailand as well as education programs and conferences that present employees with the latest information about Mitsubishi solutions and technology. “Our employees want to feel accomplished and successful, and this informs our comprehensive approach to team building, staff development and education,” explains Mr. Ito.
Going beyond the workspace, the company understands that individuals want their work to have meaning and make a positive difference. By giving them the opportunity to support a charity of their choice, MHIAA helps its staff feel fulfilled.
Finally, the likes of wedding leave and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) round out a supportive work environment.
“Our position as a market leader with a broad range of award-winning products is a testament to the quality of our products, and our customer-first philosophy and values. These values and innovations are entrenched and upheld by our employees, precisely because we prioritise their happiness and success, celebrate their diversity and invest in their expertise, as well as value their contributions and commitment,” concludes Mr. Ito. “Our motto – ‘one team, one goal’ – recognises that everyone in the organisation plays a role in its success.”
